The man, identified as Rafiu Suleman, was brutally murdered as his head, private part, hands and internal organs were chopped-off.

The police said on February 16, 2015 that the victim’s father, Wahab Ibrahim, cried to the police at Morogbo police station that his son left his place of work on Valentine’s Day and never returned.

The State police spokesperson, DSP Ken Nwosu, said Ibrahim complained that the son left his place of work in Apapa but did not return home.

He said the late Rafiu was last seen with a suspect identified as Alfa Fatai, around 10pm on the same day.

Nwosu said: “The residence of Fatai in Magbon was visited by detectives from Morogbo police station. A search was conducted and a pair of blue jeans identified as the one worn by the victim was found in the nearby bush opposite the house of Alfa Fatai. The detectives carried out further search and discovered a headless decomposing and mutilated body in a stagnant pond.

“The corpse was brought and identified by the victim’s brother, Yunus Suleman. On close observation of the corpse, it was discovered that the private part, two hands and the internal organs had been removed.

“The corpse has been deposited at the general hospital morgue for preservation while the Alfa Fatai has been arrested for questioning. The case is under investigation at the Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba,” Nwosu said.
