Stand for Your Home
Nehemiah 4:14
And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
You have the responsibility to stand for your family, no matter the circumstance confronting you. If you stand, others can stand; if you quit, you weaken others. As a child of God, the call is on you to fight for your house. God instructed Adam in Genesis 2:15; to dress the garden He gave to him and to keep it. The moment Adam failed to enforce his authority in the garden; the serpent crept in and destroyed everything. You are entrusted with the task to keep your home, whether you are married, single, a parent, child or a house staff. It extends even to how you handle the job given to you to oversee.
Wherever you find yourself, get ready to stand up as a pillar for others. The same care you gave to your academic pursuits, career, business etc, that made you succeed at it, the same aggressive stand you took to see you through to success you must give same and even more to make your home and family life a success. Why? It is a covenant instituted by God. God called it, “....my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations...” ( Genesis 17:7).
When others are not fasting and praying, you must be the one fasting and praying. No matter what others are doing wrong, you must insist on doing the right thing. Our text says, “Remember the Lord”. Stand because of God and stand because of your generation.
Prayer: Lord, I stand to fight against every devil trying to scatter my house. I address that devil to return to sender, in Jesus name.
Amen !!! What is your own prayer ???
