Wednesday: Sweet Time With Jesus

Rebuilding Broken Down Relationships

Nehemiah 4:6
So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half therefore: for the people had a mind to work

To rebuild a broken down relationship, you must first of all see that it is possible to mend broken relationships no matter the extend of damage that had been done. Whether it is relationship with God, or with one’s partner, or with colleagues or neighbours, any broken down relationship is mend-able. Any wound can be healed.

Face the present state of affairs. Do not act like nothing is wrong and do not assume that the other person has forgotten or recovered from the cause of the break down. God in humility, return with sincerity. The prodigal son told himself the truth; he stopped living in self-deception and that was the beginning of his all-round restoration. The bible says in Luke 15:17-18 “.... he came to himself, he said... I will arise and go to my father”. Whether you were the offender or the victim, get up and make effort to mend that broken relationship.

Why should you give your all to amend that relationship? The enemy thrives in confusion. Satan wants that aspect of your destiny to remain in ruins. “When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel” Nehemiah 2:10. Satan enjoys the decay and desolation – it is meant to harm you, not do you good.

Another reason to take reconciliation seriously is the fact that anyone who fails to maintain peace with others is in danger of hell. In 1 John 2:11 God said; “But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth...” Don’t give room to that darkness in your family, career, life etc.

Clear the animosity and hatred; ignite forgiveness and let light take over.

Prayer: Lord, Thank You for your word to me today. I receive the heart to mend all broken down relationships in Jesus name ...

Amen !!!
