The Revelation of the Secret Place

1 Kings 17:1-2
....As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. And the word of the Lord came unto him.

The Revelation that raised Elijah above others in life was the revelation of the secret place. Before the revelation of the word came to him, he was lightly introduced as; “Elijah the Tishbite who was of the inhabitant of Gilead” (1 Kings 17:1). But he later became God’s preferred instrument for revival and restoration in Israel. Our secret place is the place of personal prayer and devotion before God.

Friends, the only thing that can handle your situation is what God shows you in the secret place. Elijah was powerfully anointed, fearless and hold. He was fruitful in his ministry and had great influence over Israel; all these were possible because the word of the Lord came to him.

It is not enough to know what to do. You must receive enough light through revelation so as to know how to do it. Every fresh move of God sponsored by fresh light from God. Until God told Elijah to go and show himself to Ahab, he was still hiding himself. When last did you receive fresh light from heaven? Until you receive fresh revelation from God, do not expect new heights in life. More light sponsors greater heights.

“Light-lessness” is the reason for lack of discernment and sensitivity. In Genesis 18:22, “…… Abraham stood before the Lord!. He did not mistakenly follow the angels. Fresh light will help you know where you are supposed to stand per time. Receive fresh light today. Spend time with God in the secret place of prayer.


Prayer: Oh lord, flood my heart with the light of Your revelation. Keep me rooted in the place of prayer.
