The Nigerian youths have been warned not to be used as a tool by politicians in the forthcoming elections in the country.  

This warning was given by some top practitioners in the movie industry in Nigeria under the aegis of National Orientation For Being A Good African (NO BAGA), which Peace Anyiam Osigwe is its National Coordinator.

Maid In Trouble Over Theft Of N5.5m Jewellery

Mercy Odita, an 18-year-old domestic help, is presently biting her fingers in regrets as she is being remanded in police net for allegedly stealing her employer’s gold jewellery and other fashion accessories worth about N5.5million.

Odita works for Ngozi Okeke who lives in Ajah, Lagos.

She reportedly confessed to the police, narrating how she delivered the stolen items on the February 10 to one Peter and a yet-to-be identified elderly man, implying that she was hypnotised.

She said she had agreed to burgle her employer’s room on the advice of the two strangers she met at the market the previous day.

Legendary Boxer, Bash Ali Lands In Abuja Prison

Veteran Nigerian boxer, Bash Ali, has been given a space in Kuje Prison in Abuja to relax. The boxer is a World Boxing Federation (WBF) Cruiser-weight champion and holder of Nigeria’s OON National Honours.

It was reported that the Edo State-born veteran fighter was kept in the custody after he was accused of a criminal trespass, obstruction in public way, wrongful restraint and criminal intimidation, contrary to Sections 79, 85, 348, 194, 266 and 397 of penal code.

He was arrested alongside five others by police in Abuja last Wednesday at about 2p.m after one Bisong Peter of NEXIM Bank reported him at the Central Police Station. The bank said Bash Ali used a bus to block its entrance, thereby restricting staff from getting into their offices.

80 years old American missionary kidnapped in Kogi

An 80-year-old American missionary, Rev. Phyllis Sortor, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Kogi State.

The kidnapping is coming barely two days after a director at Adavi Local Government Area, Abdulazeez Ohere, who was kidnapped last week, was released.

The Department of State and Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, are working with Nigerian authorities to find Sortor and are still awaiting word from her kidnappers.

DEATH: 70-year-old Dies After Sex With 2 Teenage Girls

A 70-year-old man has been reported dead after engaging in sex with two minors, aged 14 and 16, in a hotel room located at Ogbaku, in Mbaitolu Local Government Area of Imo State.

The man, whose name was given as Collins Iheanacho, was said to be the village chairman of Umueye in Irete, Owerri west Local Government and a retired professional driver from a popular oil company in the country.

A reliable source said that the late Iheanacho was in the habit of luring teenagers to the hotel, which was said to be his love nest.

According to the source close to the deceased, the two teenagers were said to have been a regular sex toys to the late old man even after several reprimands from their parents.

MURDER: Man’s Body Parts Chopped Off

Police operatives attached to Morogbo police station, in Lagos State, have arrested a man for the alleged murder of a 42-year old man in the metropolis.

The man, identified as Rafiu Suleman, was brutally murdered as his head, private part, hands and internal organs were chopped-off.

The police said on February 16, 2015 that the victim’s father, Wahab Ibrahim, cried to the police at Morogbo police station that his son left his place of work on Valentine’s Day and never returned.

The State police spokesperson, DSP Ken Nwosu, said Ibrahim complained that the son left his place of work in Apapa but did not return home.

DEATH: 4 Traders Killed In Ogun

No fewer than four traders were on Monday morning killed in Sango Market, Ogun State when men of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) engaged smugglers in a gun dual.

The victims were hit by stray bullets while trying to escape from gun duel.

The customs men were said to have intercepted four trailers loaded with bag of rice at Iyana Joju Bus stop which is about 1,000 kilometres to the market.

They were trying to escape with the four trailers loaded with rice, an attempt which was vehemently resisted by the smugglers.

Amaechi’s Aide Kidnapped As Gunmen Disrupt APC Rally Again

Doctor In Trouble For Sleeping With Female Patients Before Treatment

For his alleged penchant for assaulting his female patients sexually before treatment, a 52-year-old Nigerian-American doctor, Fidelis I. Uwensuyi-Edosomwan has been arrested and charged to court.

The medical practitioner was arraigned on two counts of second-degree sexual offense and three counts of sexual battery.

His arrest was carried out after two women first reported the alleged sexual assault to the police.

The first woman made the report on January 2, 2015, telling authorities that Uwensuyi-Edosomwan assaulted her during a medical examination at Charlotte, North Carolina medical facility, AmeriCare Health Family Medical Center, located on West Sugar Creek Road.

I-G orders full scale investigation into Okrika shootings

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the shooting incident at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally at Okrika in Rivers, on Tuesday.

Abba, who gave the order in a statement signed by the Force Spokesman, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, on Wednesday, confirmed that one policeman died in the incident, while three others sustained injuries.

Cleric nabbed over N609m narcotics

The resident minister of Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim, Agodo-Egbe, Ikotun branch, Lagos, has been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for allegedly attempting to export narcotics with a street value of N609 million to South Africa.

The suspect, identified as Prophet Michael Raji, 60, was arrested, following the interception of the drugs at the cargo section of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, during pre-shipment examination.

He told NDLEA officers that he received the drugs from a friend and had kept them in his church since October 2014.

Ay Writes Police IG Over Pirated ’30 Days In Atlanta’ Hits Lagos Streets

Piracy has been a thorn in the flesh of the Nigerian movie industry called Nollywood. Even several efforts made by stakeholders in the creative industry to bring the menace to its kneels have yielded no meaningful results.

Not too long ago, top comedian, AY, released a movie entitled ’30 Days in Atlanta’, which broke existing box office records in Nigeria. It was adjudged as the highest grossing cinema movie of all time in the country. But sadly, the film has been pirated while still at the cinemas.

It has now flooded the streets of Lagos and being sold in traffic at the rate of N500.

When Nigeriafilms.com challenged few of the sellers of the film in Lagos over the weekend, they claimed they were not selling the pirated version of the movie, but the original as released by the producer of the movie, AY.

However, the angry rib-cracker has written an open letter to the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba to intervene in the matter.

THE Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Yaba,has detained one Ibrahim Tijani for allegedly killing his neighbour at Okun, Ogombo area of Ajah.

Report  gathered that the suspect purportedly used a pair of scissors to stab his neighbour to death after chopping off his hands during a minor misunderstanding which degenerated into a fight.

Obasanjo wants to run my govt – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, described former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s attacks on him as the consequence of his failure to surrender his administration to the former leader.

Responding to the tirades of the former president last week, President Jonathan said Obasanjo was so bent on controlling his protégées that he would not mind installing the devil in power so long as he can control him.

Meanwhile, it was learned at the weekend that the Presidency and the Peoples Democracy Party, PDP, have decided to pull back from earlier plans to sanction Obasanjo over his perceived anti-party activities. Besides, there were indications that Obasanjo’s support among some northern governors, who deferred to him in the past, may be waning.

Foundation can be defined as that upon which anything is founded; that on which anything stands, and by which it is supported, it is also the lowest supporting layer of any super structure. Every building you see is only as strong as its foundation. If the foundation is faulty , the building will be declared uninhabitable. The same applies to marriage. Don’t vote a mediocre as president – Obasanjo

Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo has enjoined Nigerians not to die for a mediocre in their search of a leader to run the country. 

Obasanjo who spoke in London, at the launch of his book, My Watch, was however less than enthusiastic in his earlier endorsement on Tuesday of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), given in Nairobi Kenya.

The book, My Watch, which is the chronicle of Obasanjo’s years in the presidency, is banned in Nigeria pending judicial adjudication on a libel suit brought by a chieftain of People Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Buruji Kashamu.
