Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Manuel Neuer will be named the 2014 Fifa Ballon d'Or winner tonight

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer are in contention for the Fifa Ballon d'Or.

The award, currently held by Ronaldo, will recognise the best player of 2014 and be handed out at a glitzy ceremony in Zurich.

As well as the Ballon d'Or, six other awards will be dished out today.

The women's player of the year is contested by Germany's Nadine Kessler, Brazil's Marta and Abby Wambach of the USA.

There are awards for men's and women's coach of the year, with Champions League winning Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti up against World Cup winner Joachim Low for the former award. Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is also in contention.

There is a Presidential award, gifted to someone who's made a contribution to football that may not have been in the limelight and a Fair Play award.

The final one is the Puskas award for goal of the season. There is big interest to see if Stephanie Roche's incredible effort can beat World Cup strikes by Robin van Persie and James Rodriguez.

The FIFA/FIFPro World XI of 2014 will also be revealed.

Wow !!! Who do you think will be the winner of the world best player 2014 ???
