Believe Without Seeing

John 20:29 (The Message Bible)
Jesus said, “so, you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes. Even better blessings are in store for those who believe without seeing. “

Unconditional faith in God is what pleases Him. When all our arguments and hard questions are settle on the integrity of His unchanging word, He pleased. If God says it, then that settles it. God cannot lie.

The carnal man depends on his physical senses. He says; “if it is really in existence, why can’t I see it? Let me see it, and then I will know it is in existence”.

Rivers election: Drums of war

The three major political parties in Rivers State are recently signed a peace accord to reject violence in the course of the ongoing campaigns. However, there is almost a general agreement that the assertions of the pundits are quite far from the actions of their gladiators and pawns.

The tense political atmosphere in Rivers State has undoubtedly unnerved many peace loving people.

Several lives have been lost and property have been destroyed in the battle of wits between the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the ultimate political prize in the state – the governorship.

Most of the violence have been directed towards the APC a fact that has led some in the ruling party in the state to point fingers at the PDP. However, neither the police nor the courts have been indicted anyone for the spate of violence.

It was as such not surprising when the APC last Wednesday rolled out its big guns including the state chapter chairman, Mr Davies Ikanya, Senator Magnus Abe and Prof. Tam David-West, a close ally of the party’s presidential candidate to articulate their assertions.

The Key of Expectation

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

To experience the flow of miracles, you must come to God’s presence with expectation. The only thing God has to give you is what you are expecting. If you don’t expect anything, God has nothing to give to you.

Your expectation determines your possession. If you must get it tomorrow, you must expect it today. Your expectation is not a probability when it is rooted in God. It is a certainty.

NCC justifies reason for shutting APC’s sms platform

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, yesterday, justified its action for shutting down the controversial All Progressive Congress, APC SMS platform for fund raising, saying that the action of the mobile network operators in running a political advertisement for the APC wasn’t in compliance with the provisions of the NCC guidelines on the use of shot Codes in Nigeria.

The Director Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, Mr. Tony Ojobo, made the clarification at a press conference held at the NCC headquarters in Abuja.

According to him, the section reads in parts: ‘‘the Commission shall receive written notification from the licensees for all advertisements for goods and services within a minimum of seven days of the proposed or planned publication of an advertisement, in order to ensure such advertisements meet the minimum standards and requires.’’

Rise Above Your Setbacks

1samuel 30:6,8
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. And David inquired at the Lord, saying, shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them ? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

Beloved, what you can perceive while facing a setback determines how you react to it; and how you react determines whether you will come out of it or not. In Numbers 13:33, the children of Israel saw themselves as grasshoppers compared to the giants they faced in Canaan, so they all perished in the wilderness; except Joshua and Caleb who believed they could conquer the giants.

Every Christian must be a person that adds value to others like Jesus Christ. Your life ought to be a light to guide and direct others unto greater success. You are the sail of the earth, to give taste, sweetness and preservation to creation around you. Two important questions to ask yourself:

The Flame of True Love

Songs of Solomon 8:6-7
set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

Only God can show us the complete picture of true love. The bibles tells us that God is love. Our text today is a revelation on the flame of true love. Let us note the following points:

- True love is like a burning flame of fire. It is hot, strong and persistent. It cannot be hidden; it will always show. It can be felt. If your spouse cannot feel your love, there is something wrong. Make it a goal to show your spouse burning love.
