Do you know: Modest coffee consumption good for the heart

People who drink three to five cups of coffee a day may have a lower risk of clogged arteries that can cause serious heart problems, a study said Tuesday. The South Korean research is the latest on the health effects of the popular brew, previously associated with a reduced risk of developing multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and Alzheimers disease. For the latest study, the team analysed data from 25,100 South Korean men and women, average age 41, who had undergone regular health screening.

None of the study group had any cardiovascular problems, but one in seven had detectable levels of coronary artery calcium (CAC) — an early sign of coronary heart disease, or atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis occurs when a waxy compound called plaque lines the artery walls, limiting blood flow and potentially triggering dangerous blood clots. The level of CAC was highest among those who had less than one cup or more than five cups daily, the researchers found. It was lowest among those who drank between three to five cups.

Refuse To Be Small

Job: 8:7
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

Smallness in life is not the plan and purpose of God for His children. Today’s text says, “Though thy beginning was small”. God’s plan and purpose is for you to greatly increase in your latter end.

Psalm 92:12 says; “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon”.

Beloved, smallness limits capacity for impact and exploits. In 1samuel 9:16, God spoke to Samuel concerning Saul saying;

No longer able to endure the pains her husband's over sized manhood has been inflicting on her, Aisha Dannupawa, a housewife has asked the court to dissolve her one-week marriage to her husband, Ali Maizinari.

The said woman told the court that she married Ali, after her first marriage failed.

The mother of three revealed that before she packed into her husband’s house, as the tradition demanded, she was invited into his parents house.

Chelsea Fc Wins Capital One Cup.

John Terry’s first cup final goal for Chelsea and a Diego Costa strike deflected into the net won the London derby showpiece at Wembley.

Mourinho: Courtois, Filipe Luis & Christensen men of the match - even though they didn't face Tottenham

Chelsea v Tottenham

The deadlock in what had been a tight encounter with defences on top was broken shortly before half-time when the skipper finished off a set-piece. From then on there only looked likely to be one winner an indeed Jose Mourinho’s men doubled our lead inside the hour when Diego Costa’s drive from out wide took a touch off Kyle Walker on its way in.

Chelsea v Tottenham

Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas then went close but two goals proved to be enough to win the fifth League Cup in Chelsea history, not least due to a collection of fine pieces of defending in the second half which kept the clean sheet intact and Spurs at bay. See more pix

Fuel scarcity worsens as NNPC promises improved supply

The fuel crisis across the country worsened, weekend, as most of the petrol stations were shut down leaving motorists stranded.

This was in spite of claims by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, on Friday, that it is injecting about 688 million of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, into the market. Motorists had to resort to the black market, where roadside petrol sellers now sell the commodity for as high as N250 per litre.

However, the NNPC, yesterday, promised that it was working to ensure that the situation is addressed quickly and assured Nigerians that the fuel supply situation will improve in the coming days.

Responding to enquiries from Vanguard, spokesperson for the NNPC, Mr. Ohi Alegbe, said: “On Friday, we had stated that in 48 hours we will wet the market with 688 million litres of petrol. Distribution of products is by trucking. You will agree that it is some distance from the depots and tank farms in the south to the depots and retail outlets in the hinterland. Expectedly, the queues should disappear before long.”

Desire Great Increase

Psalm 71:21
Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

Many people are limited in life not because God is limited; but because they do not know how much God can bless and enlarge them. God cannot increase you beyond your desire and capacity to receive from Him. The Psalmist in our text had great desire for increase “Thou shalt increase my greatness”. He knew without any doubt that God can and will increase him. Psalm 37:4 tells us that God only grants what our heart truly desires and believes.
