The Ugliest Man In Uganda Welcomes His Eighth Baby
A 47-year-old father of seven, who has been dubbed Uganda’s ugliest man, has become a father for the eighth time in Kyazanga, Lwengo district.
Godfrey Baguma has become a proud father of eight children after his wife Kate Namanda, 30, delivered a healthy baby girl. The couple now have six children together, while two others are kids from Baguma’s first unsuccessful marriage.

Wike Should Join Nollywood—Rotimi Amaechi
The fight between former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi and his successor, Nyesom Wike, seems to have refused to end. The two former close friends fell apart when Amaechi was at loggerheads with former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience.

Nothing Can Make Me Fight John Dumelo—Yvonne Nelson
Over the past days, two Ghanaian movie stars, John Dumelo and Yvonne Nelson have been in the news over a reported animosity between the two best friends.
This was first noticeable when a fan asked Yvonne why she didn’t involve her colleague in her ‘dumsor’ protest, which took place few days ago in Ghana. The actress’ response showed that all was not well with the two.
John did not eventually attend the protest organized by Yvonne, which had other Ghanaian stars in attendance.
But Yvonne has cleared the air on the issue, saying John will always remain her best friend. She made this known while speaking on a radio programme recently.

Joke Silva Wants Those Behind Fuel Scarcity Jailed
Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva, has advocated jail term for those behind the scarcity of petrol that has brought the country to her kneels.
For over two weeks, Nigeria was taken hostage by oil marketers, who refused to supply petroleum products to filling stations across the country.
It was only on Monday that they called off the strike after the Senate intervened in the crisis with the Federal Government.
Joke Silva, while reacting to the issue, said, "I support all those who have said that everyone, everyone, who was responsible for declaring war on this country in the guise of fuel scarcity must be jailed."
Jonathan to formally dissolve FEC today
In preparation for its final handing over formalities to the incoming administration, the Federal Executive Council, FEC, will be formally dissolved today.
The session which will be presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to witness a formal speech by him, highlighting his achievements while in office since May 29, 2011.
Ministers are also expected to make speeches on their experience as members of the council under President Jonathan.
The meeting which is expected to commence by 11am will afford each minister an opportunity to relieve his experience while in office.

Computer Science Graduate Nabbed For Robbery (Photo)
The long arms of the law have finally caught up with Anidi Reginald, a 27-year-old Computer Science graduate from a University in Cotonou.
The young man was arrested by men of the Enugu State Police Command for allegedly working with other members of an armed robbery gang to snatch a car from their victim at Ozalla, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state on Saturday May 16, 2015.
It was gathered that the dare-devil robbers, which he Anidi was amongst, had attacked and snatched a Honda Pilot car with registration number AAA 598 CH from its owner.
After they had successfully completed their operation, they headed to Enugu metropolis, but unfortunately for Anidi, he was apprehended by the police after a hot pursuit while other members of the gang escaped.
Prior to his arrest, the robbers and the police engaged in a gun battle, which led to the arrest of the Enugu-born suspect.

Don't pay more than N6,350 for driver's licence, FRSC boss tells Nigerians
Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), said original Driver's Licence (DL) in the country IS N6,350 and applicants must go to any DL office of their choice for biometric capturing.
Oyeyemi said this in Abuja on Tuesday at a one-day workshop organised by the commission for members of security agencies in the country on verification procedure of DL and number plates.
According to him, authentic licence is produced in all the licensing offices in the country and that the process is thorough and saves costs for applicants that follow it up.
"Members of the public who give money and passport size photograph to anybody in order to collect driver’s licence are doing disservice to themselves.

Sex with more than 20 women 'reduces risk of prostate cancer'
Wow, is this good news or what!! Base on current studies it has been reveal that Researchers at the University of Montreal and INRS-Institut Armand-Frappier found that men who had slept with more than 20 women during their lifetime were 28 per cent less likely to develop the disease.

They were also 19 per cent less likely to develop an aggressive type of cancer, compared to those who had had only one female sexual partner.
However, the same did not apply to gay men, according to the Canadian scientists. They found that having more than 20 male partners doubled the risk of prostate cancer and made an aggressive cancer five times more likely. Sleeping with one male partner did not affect the risk.
Meanwhile, men who were virgins were almost twice as likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer as those who were sexually experienced.
The findings are from the Prostate Cancer & Environment Study in which 3,208 men answered questions about their lifestyle and sex lives.
Of these men, 1,590 were diagnosed with prostate cancer between September 2005 and August 2009, while 1,618 men were part of the control group.
Overall, men with prostate cancer were twice as likely as others to have a relative with cancer, but the study also found a possible link with their number of sexual partners.
Lead researcher Professor Marie-Elise Parent, from the University of Montreal, said: "It is possible that having many female sexual partners results in a higher frequency of ejaculations, whose protective effect against prostate cancer has been previously observed in cohort studies."

Devon conger eel narrowly missed the British record.
A massive eel caught by fishermen off the coast of Devon narrowly missed the British record.
The conger eel, which is about 7ft (2.1m) long, was accidentally caught in the nets of the trawler Hope.
As it was dead when it was hauled in, the fishermen brought the creature back to Plymouth where it sold for £40. Plymouth Fisheries said it was 131lb (59kg), just under the UK line-caught record of 133lb 4oz (60kg).
The conger eel, which is about 7ft (2.1m) long, was accidentally caught in the nets of the trawler Hope.

The news of the near-death experience of a serving corp member in Nasarawa State was a rude shock to the academic world when Olubunmi Adeyera collapsed at the guard room for allegedly being rude to the security officials at the Orientation Camp in the state.
The story broke that the Corper with the State code: NS/15A/0134 and Call-up no.: NYSC/NIJ/2015/061287, was sick and needed to eat to be fit enough to use his medications. He approached the camp market to get food and the security officials, Police and Man 'O' War attached to the camp commanded him to return to the lecture hall.
The anonymous witness who broke the story said the corper had tried to explain to the officials that he was trying to eat so that he could use his medications but it all fell on deaf ears. The security personels inquested which ethnic group he belonged to and afterwards detained him at the make shift guard room when he revealed that he was of Yoruba origin.
It was at the detention room where he was for three hours that he had collapsed and doctors battled for his life for almost one hour before he was revived.

Man, 56, docked for allegedly hitting hammer on neighbour’s forehead
A 56-year-old man, Patrick Amam, who allegedly hit one Nanya Dutse with a hammer on her forehead, on Thursday appeared before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
Amam, a resident of No.99, Orodu St., Ajegunle, Apapa in Lagos, is standing trial on a charge of assault. The Prosecutor, Cpl. John Iberedem, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 6 at his residence.
Iberedem said that Amam unlawfully assaulted Dutse by beating and hitting her with a hammer on her forehead, which caused her bodily harm. “The complainant said she mistakenly poured part of the water she had fetched from a well on the body of Mr Amam’s wife who was standing by the same well. Dutse said that Amam’s wife did not give her the opportunity to apologise to her, only for Amam’s wife to be shouting and insulting her.

Daughters Beat Dad For Dating Late Mum’s Friend
It was drama on Tuesday at an Apapa Magistrates’ Court in Lagos as two siblings were arraigned for assaulting their father because he was dating their late mother’s friend.
The suspects, Flora Ogidinta, 36, and Chiedoziem Ogidinta, 29, residents of Flat 18, Block 3, E-Close in 401 Road, Festac Town, Lagos State, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, attempt to murder and threatening violence.
They allegedly beat their father, Mr. Ihiomah Ogidinta of the same address on April 1, 2015, and tied rope on his neck.
The prosecutor, ASP Soji Ojaokomo, told the court that the accused confessed that they allegedly meted out the punishment on their father because he was having an affair with their late mother’s friend.
Invitations for May 29th inauguration sent
President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo are to take the president elect Major General Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osibajo on a tour in the Presidential Villa on the 28th of May, 2015 as part of the final activities
Governors of Niger and Benue state, Babangida Aliyu and Gabriel Suswam who addressed state House after yesterday’s National Council of state meeting said the council also approved a template for subsequent handover and take over.
Governor Aliyu said that the Council also ratified the programme of both the transition committees of the outgoing government of President Goodluck Jonathan and the incoming administration of president elect, Major General Muhammadu Buhari for final transmission of power on May 29.
According to him, yesterday’s meeting was a valedictory session for President jonathan.
He said that that 28th May remains the handover of notes to the incoming government at a dinner while 29th is the inauguration proper.
Governor Aliyu said there will also be a lunch and a gala night on the same day of the inauguration.
Explaining further on the issue of the handover notes on May 28, Governor Aliyu said that “it is only a technicality. One is inauguration, the formality of the new president taking over. Technically, the 29th is for the man taking over.”

Calabar Runs Chicks Beat Pastor For Dumping Regular Client
A funny scenario, which could be likened to that of Nollywood recently played out in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, when a supposed Pastor was beaten to a pulp by some women of easy virtue because he was impatient and went after another woman apart from his regular customer.
It was gathered that the’man of God’, simply identified as Pastor Effiong, had been secretly patronizing the ladies of the night at a popular brothel, located around the Watt area and had one of them as his regular client.
According to an eyewitness, the pastor got what he deserved.
"Trouble brewed for him when he went to the hotel with his bible on the pretext of preaching as he always does. But unfortunately for him, his regular woman was engaged with another man and instead of waiting for her, he went to another lady's room and was busy enjoying himself when his regular woman came out and was told that the pastor had gone to another woman.

I KILLED TO AVENGE FRIEND’S DEATH –--CULTIST
A 20-year old man, Joberi Pyagbara, now in police custody for his involvement in cult activities, has told City News that he killed a member of a rival cult group and buried him in a remote community to conceal his deed.
Pyagbara spoke to City News shortly after he was paraded, together with 30 other cult members, by the police. He said he could not have a rival cult group kill his friends without fighting back. According to him, he identified one of the cult members that killed his friend around his Eken community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State and clubbed him to death.

They mentioned, particularly, Science Park Road, which links Calabar-Itu Road, saying erosion had made the road impassable. Speaking, erosion has also damaged a section of Calabar-Itu Road.
A resident of Atai Nung Itam in Itu Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Moses Akpan, appealed to the incoming administration to declare a state of emergency on erosion in Uyo, Itu, and Oron.

Girlfriend arraign for stealing boyfriend’s phones valued at N90,000
The Police on Monday arraigned a student, Juliet Mathew, 22, in an Oshodi Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing three phones, belonging to her boyfriend, valued at N90,000.
Mathew, who resides at No. 22, Pipeline St., Iyana-Odo in Igando, near Lagos, is being tried for stealing.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde, told the court that Mathew committed the offences on April 1 at No. 2, Ilare Close, Mafoluku, Oshodi.
Olatunde said that the phones belonged to one Moses Ogundeyi.

Olatunde said the accused, who came to pass the night in Ogundeyi’s house, went away with the items.
“The accused came to sleep over in the complainant’s house and the following morning when the complainant went to take his bath, the accused picked his phones and ran away.
Mathew, who resides at No. 22, Pipeline St., Iyana-Odo in Igando, near Lagos, is being tried for stealing.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde, told the court that Mathew committed the offences on April 1 at No. 2, Ilare Close, Mafoluku, Oshodi.
Olatunde said that the phones belonged to one Moses Ogundeyi.

A 27-year-old suspected kidnapper, Rasheed Adetunji, who was paraded alongside other suspects, has confessed that his two wives knew he was a criminal and not a kidnapper.
He also revealed that he used part of the ransom money collected from victims to get married to them.
According to the Osun State-born Adetunji, his love for women is responsible for his having two wives at his age and had hoped to marry more before he was arrested.
He told Vanguard that one of his wives had a premonition of his current travails and warned him to stay away from members of his gang.
He regretted that he would miss his wives and family who, he claimed, he was trying to make happy.

WITCHCRAFT: Housewife Confesses To ‘Charming’ Co-wife’s Son
A 32-year-old housewife identified as Maureen (surname withheld), resident at Ambassador Leo Okogwu Street, west end area Asaba Delta State, on Friday allegedly confessed to have bewitched her co-wife’s son, an undergraduate of UNIZIK, Awka, causing him to consistently fail his exams.
The woman was said to have once confessed she was a witch in her village in Atumaga while she was 12 years old and was taken to a medicine man who claimed to have cleansed her of the witchcraft spirit before men started asking her hand in marriage.
Last Friday, the woman was said to have sat on the ground at the junction of Ambassador Leo Okogwu Street on the and was surrounded by a group of boys with her hair looking disheveled when the drama over alleged witchcraft started unfolding.
Some of the boys were said to have pulled her hair while others, armed with sticks, occasionally beat her to extract more confessions from her.

Woman, 70, kidnaps 3-yr-old-girl in Kwara; uses her for begging
It was drama in Ilorin, yesterday, as Kwara State Police Command arrested a 70-year-old woman (names withheld) for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old girl (names withheld).
Speaking in an interview with journalists, a relative of the girl’s mother, Mrs. Maryam Abdulganiyu, said the girl was found in a worship place, popularly called Ori-Oke at Basin area of Ilorin, being used by the suspect for begging.
She added that the suspect had claimed that she used the proceeds from the alms begging to feed and clothe the girl.
Vanguard gathered that the girl was declared missing on March 25 by her parents, who reside at Old Shao Garage, Ilorin.
Father of the girl was said to have approached a cleric at Ori-Oke. While the search for the girl was on, her grandfather, Mallam Isa, went to the same Ori-Oke to worship and saw the septuagenarian with the missing girl.

David Cameron’s Conservatives win in surprise UK election
The Conservative Party swept to power on Friday in Britain’s Parliamentary elections, winning an unexpected and resounding victory that returns Prime Minister David Cameron to 10 Downing Street in a stronger position than before.
Cameron’s office said he would go to Buckingham Palace, where he is expected to tell Queen Elizabeth II that he has enough support to form a government.
That brings the election to a much-quicker-than-expected conclusion. Polls ahead of Election Day showed Conservatives locked in a tight race with the opposition Labour Party, raising the possibility of days or weeks of negotiations to form a government.
Labour took a beating, mostly from energized Scottish nationalists who pulled off a landslide in Scotland.
With Cameron’s Conservatives winning a working majority in the 650-seat House of Commons, the election result looked to be far better for him than even his own party had foreseen. With 639 constituencies counted, the Conservatives had 324 seats to Labour’s 229.

Bombay High Court suspends Bollywood star Salman Khan’s jail term
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s five-year prison sentence for killing a homeless man with his SUV after a night out drinking 13 years ago was suspended Friday pending an appeal, according to reports.
The actor was on Wednesday found guilty at a session’s court of culpable homicide and other charges for driving his vehicle into a group of homeless men sleeping rough in suburban Mumbai in 2002.
But on Friday, lawyers for Khan argued to Mumbai’s High Court that their client’s conviction should be overturned. The court agreed to suspend the sentence until an appeal is heard, according to Indian television networks NDTV and CNN-IBN.
The decision means the actor’s jail sentence does not take effect, the reports said.

Eight-year-old smuggled to Spain in suitcase:
Police found an eight-year-old Ivorian boy hidden in a suitcase that was smuggled across the border into Spanish territory in north Africa, an official said on today.
A 19-year-old woman took the case through a pedestrian crossing from Morocco into the small Spanish-governed territory of Ceuta on Thursday, a spokesman for the Civil Guard police force said.
“When they put the suitcase through the scanner, the operator noticed something strange, which seemed to be a person inside the case,” he told AFP.
“When it was opened they found a minor, in a terrible state.”
The boy said he was eight years old and from Ivory Coast, according to the spokesman.
The Civil Guard arrested the woman, who was due to go before a judge.
They also arrested the boy’s father when he tried to cross the border a few hours later. The father is Ivorian and lives in Spain’s Canary Islands.

Police uncover another ritualists’ den in Ogun, rescue woman
Ogun State Police Command yesterday uncovered another suspected ritualists’ den in Unity and Peace Estate, along Itele-Lafenwa Road, Ota, Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the latest discovery was made possible by the escape of a 28-year-old lady, who had been kept bound in an uncom-pleted building in the estate.
She did not disclose her identity before policemen from Itele Police Station arrived and cordoned off the area.
Survivor lured by ‘boyfriend.’ The lucky victim was said to have been told by her captors that they would come for her in the night, but she struggled to free herself and rolled towards the entrance of the building before she was noticed. Passers-by saw her and came to her rescue.

We have 1.2bn litres of petrol in stock, says NNPC
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its downstream subsidiary, the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), said they had 1.2 billion litres of petrol in stock.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by Mr Ohi Alegbe, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Department, NNPC. The statement stated that the figure translated to 31 days sufficiency, going by the 40 million litres daily consumption of the product in the country.
It explained that the Managing Director of PPMC, Mr Haruna Momoh, made the announcement in Abuja.
It quoted Haruna as saying that “21 additional vessels laden with petroleum products are in offshore Lagos waiting to berth.
“NNPC has made adequate arrangements to ensure energy sufficiency in the country and reassured motorists that the noticeable queues at the filling stations would thin out in the days ahead”.
Momoh said that the NNPC also had 21 days sufficiency of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) otherwise known as diesel and 18 days sufficiency of Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK), otherwise known as kerosene.
He said that as part of efforts to ensure petroleum products’ sufficiency and distribution, the NNPC embarked on aggressive Reception Depots rehabilitation in 2011.

Davido Performs With 50 Cent In Las Vegas
The HKN Gang boss was spotted performing on stage with 50 Cent at a pool party at the SLS in Las Vegas, USA, over the weekend.
